hey all, my name is Libby and i am currently 32 weeks along in my first pregnancy. I learned about babywearing while living in Europe, and now that I am back home in NC, i'm having trouble finding anybody that even knows what i am talking about! Wearing my baby is nearly as imprtant to me as having a natural birth and breastfeeding, but because of the cost of the wraps, i don't have one yet ..i'm DETERMINED to acquire one, though, and i am hoping that this forum can help me out!

Welcome! I live in western NY, and I'm always surprised at how many people haven't heard of babywearing! It seems like online, everyone I know is into babywearing! I made my own stretchy wrap, which I used with my newborn daughter (who's now 6 months old) a ton! It was super comfortable for both of us - I just bought 7 yards of stretchy fabric from JoAnn's and cut it in half lengthwise - I think I spent a total of $12, and I got two wraps out of it! I would say that's the most inexpensive wrap I've heard of! I also have a ring sling that I won online, and a Patapum (kind of like an Ergo) - I spent the most on that - $75, I think. But it is a very nice carrier. I hope you can find the advice and the babywearing supplies that you need - hope I can help somehow!
