Hi guys! Hoping I can get some advice here :) I make wraps, but they are cotton jersey(great for almost everything, and perfect for our cold weather LOL). However, after seeing alot of rucksack and tibetan carries, I want to try out a no stretch wrap as I'm sure I will notice a difference on those carries.

So.....specifically what kind of fabric am I looking for?? I have a few good wholesalers here, but LOVE etsy for buying fabrics. Any advice is greatly appreciated as I would love to try some new carries with a different fabric! Thanks~ :D

You could use any kind of woven cotton with a bit of give (diagonal give). Cotton gauze might be best for warm locations. Linen works well.

Osnaberg - the fabric varies a bit so it's worth asking around for the best place to get it

Sleeping baby productions makes RS's out of it

I 2nd this. I've made several from osnaberg. Make sure you get the kind that is not permanent press. I ordered a bolt from Joanne.com and it didn't specify, but when it arrived it was PP. I still like it, but much prefer the non-PP.

I hear the osnaburg from fabric.com is especially good. I'm hoping to try some out pretty soon. And maybe do this with the leftovers: http://www.craftstylish.com/item/13024/how-to-make-cocktail-and-dinner-napkins

Thanks for posting this. I also bought a jersey knit to make my own wrap. It works great for doing a front carry, but I was wondering what kind to use when I need less stretch. You guys read my mind :)

Definitely try the Osnaburg. I bought some the other day to play with and it's nice and strong, but lightwieght. I would suggest the white Osnaburg that they have at Joann's though. I bought the natural and even after washing it's pretty scratchy. May just be my preference though - it was definitely "grippy" :) .

Is the white one from Joann's permanent press?

Thanks for all of your suggestions as I am new to babywearing and am looking into getting some fabric to make my own wrap!
